Operating Methodology
We maintain a flexible approach to each search and
view every assignment as unique. We are however able
to draw upon experience gained in previous searches
within the same industry or in similar functional areas
and tailor our efforts to meet the specific needs of
the client.

Understanding the Company
Before an assignment begins we sharpen our knowledge of the client's company,
its business-strategy and operating markets, its organization
and management structure. And a clear understanding
of its values and culture, as well as its own way of
handling its human resources. This phase allows us to
gather essential data for the search and also to establish
the most appropriate solution for our client. Often
our experience and per- spectives as consultants help
clients assess the demands of the position, the
qualifica- tions
of the individual who can best fit it, and the client's
expectations in light of the market place.
Job description
Once consensus is reached on the requirements of the
position, together with our client, we prepare a job
description. What is the real scope of its responsibilities,
reporting lines, global package and other fringe benefits.
Candidate's profile
A profile of the ideal candidate is then defined in
terms of specific technical and experience qualifications,
as well as leadership and other personal requirements.
Assignment approval
The job description and the candidate's profile, are
subsequently submitted to the client for formal approval.
Research strategy
A critical component of our success is systematically
identifying target industries and service companies
that are privileged sources to qualified candidates.
For each assignment, we formulate the strategy most
likely to identify a candidate population matching the
job description and the person profile.
Direct sources
Complementing the technical resources of our research
team, our consultants cultivate personal contacts with
top executives in industrial, distribution, financial
and other service companies. These contacts allow our
consultants to maximize every opportunity to search
for the most qualified candidates for each assignment.
Progress meeting
We believe it is essential to work closely with the
client at every stage of the progress and therefore
in addition to keeping our client apprised of major
developments we schedule a progress meeting at which
we discuss the candidate population that we have identified
and profiled. This enables strategy to remain absolutely
aligned and for us to present our logic for interviewing
the long-list of potential candidates.
Selection progress
The preceding phases generate a short-list of prospect
candidates. Our consultants respect rigorous ethical
procedures in approaching potential candidates. All
conver-sations are processed in absolute discretion and
confidentiality, without revealing the identity of our
client if this is the client's wish. Each candidate
is personally interviewed to appraise how he/she matches
the approved profile. In this phase we analyze in full
depth the candidate's personality and professional goals
for the future, to ensure that they fit into the position
offered.
Presentation of candidates
This phase is very important in our operating methods.
After we have submitted to the client a confidential
report about the final candidates, the first personal
presentation of these candidates to our client, will
be made in our offices, whenever possible. Our offices
are discrete and centrally located. These procedures
assure an adequate protection of our candidates, until
a final mutual decision is agreed.
Reference checking
When the preferred candidate is identified and both
client and candidate have expressed an interest in working
together, we contact references able to comment in depth
upon the candidate's leadership ability, integrity,
technical competence, achievements and personal characteristics
to support impressions gained during interviews. The
candidate will be informed in advance that these confirmations
are going to be processed and local laws regulating
privacy will be respected. These references supplement
the professional evaluation of our consultants and they
represent an additional guarantee to our client that
the candidate fully matches all the requirements.
Final negotiations
We may help our client in the final negotiation process,
structuring an adequate compensation package, and other
fringe benefits, in order to attract the selected candidate.
An important item of this negotiation is the definition
of a detailed job description, establishing areas of
responsibility, performance objectives and evaluation
guidelines.
Integration
Our consultants will continue working with the client
and the candidate, to ensure a successful integration.
Over the next six months, we maintain dialogue with
the client and the successful candidate so as to assist
in averting any problems in adjustment.
Ensuring quality
We ask our clients to measure us in terms of expectations
measured against output and we ask our clients to fill
out and return a Quality Evaluation Questionnaire, in
order that we may provide an even better service during
the next assignment.
